I am not convinced of this. I have changed the module position to 'top' and the blank lines are now at the top of the page at the top of <body> - immediately before the sidepanel module, nowhere near the maps module.

Please have a look at the inspector now that I have changed its position.

OK - the problem has been solved. The GENIUS who wrote the Google Maps module had a look at the code and discovered that mod_sidepanel_jt1.php was not encoded in UTF-8 without BOM. When resaved, the problem was gone. Thanks Dmitry at ZHUK.CC !!!!!!
